The Griffin-Spalding County United Way has closed the time period for accepting applications for 2018 funding. New applications will be accepted until Thursday, March 30, 2017, 3:00pm. Application forms are available by contacting the United Way Office at 770-229-4212 or on our webstite at www.gscunitedway.org.
If you are requesting funds to assist residents in Griffin-Spalding County please complete the application labeled Spalding; if you are requesting funds to assist residents in Thomaston-Upson County please compete the application labeled Upson. If your agency serves both Griffin-Spalding County and Thomaston-Upson County you MUST complete an application for each respective county and all documentation required must be submitted with each application.
Any organization desiring to be considered for United Way funding must submit a formal application to the Griffin-Spalding County United Way’s Board of Directors. The organization must be non-profit, declared tax-exempt under Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. The organization seeking admission must be reviewed by the United Way Board of Directors to determine program quality, services provided in Spalding County, and whether or not it is a duplication of an existing member agency program.
Agencies currently receiving funding from the Griffin-Spalding County United Way include: Abundant Life Soup Kitchen, American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America-Flint River Council, Council on Aging, Five Loaves and Two Fish Food Pantry, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Griffin Area Habitat for Humanity, Griffin Area Resource Center, Griffin/Spalding Literacy Commission, House of Hope, Midway Recovery Systems, Partners in Education, Project Linus, Promise Place, Salvation Army, Salvation Army Community Center for Boys and Girls, Special Olympics, Spalding County 4-H, and Stepping Stones Educational Therapy Center.
